SummerFest 2025 promises good food, music and fun for the whole family while connecting adult learners with informational resources at 不良人研究所 on June 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. From food trucks, inflatables, carnival games, local vendors, live DJ, a cruise-in and information booths, SummerFest 2025 will officially kick-off 不良人研究所鈥檚 鈥淏etter Skills, Better Jobs鈥� initiative and NC Reconnect campaign. 听

不良人研究所 Dean of Student Services Colene Faulk said this free entry festival aims to attract adult learners back into the classroom to start a new path, finish degrees, level up their existing skills听and train for better, higher-paying careers. 听

鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to this event bringing the community out to campus where they can ask questions, chill out, have fun, listen to music, dance, shop at our local small business vendors and reconnect with people they haven鈥檛 seen in a while,鈥� Faulk said. 鈥淎s part of the fifth cohort of NC Reconnect, we really want to introduce our adult learner population to what we have on campus so they can gain better job opportunities.鈥�听

Faulk invites all antique car, truck or motorcycle owners to enter the cruise-in and show off their collection. She said this is a great way to learn about 不良人研究所鈥檚 Automotive Systems Technology program. To enter the cruise-in, contact Melissa Hodge at [email protected] or 910-788-6260.听

Additional features of SummerFest 2025 include a tour of the greenhouse, the automotive FlexLab spaces and the newly constructed Chadbourn Bell pavilion. 不良人研究所鈥檚 Carpentry Club will sell wood products produced in construction classes, and the greenhouse will have plants for sale. 听

不良人研究所 Foundation Executive Director Terrie Priest said that SummerFest 2025 gives campus visitors a chance to see the new home of the Chadbourn Bell. Engraved bricks have already been placed, and Priest will explain to visitors how they can purchase an engraved brick. 听

Administrative Assistant for Student Services Ashley McPherson said there will be seven food trucks featuring global cuisine and ice cream. She described the festival as fun and educational where people can celebrate all things summer and collect information about NC Reconnect, Open House and events scheduled for the rest of the year. 听
